Taking back control
Sometimes we make decisions that end up not quite being right for us.
It’s okay to beat yourself up a bit, let the emotion happen, acknowledge it, allow it, then think about what you want to do about it.
From my evolution as a human, self awareness definitely becomes more apparent and in my business as a Learning and Development partner, supporting individuals build this and the impact it can have on them professionally and personally is something I am passionate about.
I always wonder though, how self aware are we? Is there a time to be more self aware than others?
In a recent experience with a client, where I realised my style of facilitation wasn’t what they were looking for, instead of trying to fit into what they were looking for, I stood strong with what my strengths are and how I wanted to impact this client. Even though we didn’t continue our work together, I was proud how I approached the conversation.
That self awareness of what would benefit me as a professional aswell as the client, allowed me to take back control.
My reflection questions to you..
1) What does taking back control feel like for you?
2) When have you felt you did this well?
3) When did you notice you weren’t quite on the mark?
